Quick Start — 5 Steps

  1. 1

    Unbox & Verify

Open your Trezor device, confirm the tamper-evident seal, and connect using the official cable. Only use the official Trezor website and app for setup.

  2. 2

    Install Trezor Suite

Download the official Trezor Suite app at trezor.io/start and follow on-screen prompts. The Suite guides you through firmware updates and initialization.

  3. 3

    Create a New Wallet

Select "Create new" and write down the recovery seed on the included card. Store it offline and NEVER share your seed phrase with anyone.

  4. 4

    Set a PIN & Passphrase

Choose a strong PIN and optionally enable a passphrase for additional security. These protect access to the physical device and your accounts.

  5. 5

    Send & Receive Crypto

Use Trezor Suite to manage accounts, receive crypto addresses, and sign transactions securely on-device. Confirm every transaction on the Trezor screen.

Best Practices & Security

Protecting your crypto starts with the device: verify firmware, keep your recovery seed offline, never enter your seed on a computer or phone, and only use official software. Trezor hardware wallet users benefit from robust security: hardware-based key storage, open-source firmware, and transaction verification on-device help prevent phishing and malware attacks.

  • Keep your seed phrase in a secure location (safe, safety deposit box).
  • Use a metal backup for long-term seed protection.
  • Never share seed phrases, PINs, or passphrase hints.
  • Update firmware via the official Trezor Suite only.
